Byl to 6. leden 1989, kdy mladý holanďan Nicky Romero poprvé uviděl světlo světa. Narodil se a vyrůstal v malém městě jménem Amerongen, kde si Nicky oblíbil hudbu již v útlém věku. V 6 letech poprvé udeřil do bubnu, když se stal členem pěšího orchestru a to byl první hudební krůček mladého Nickyho. Netrvalo dlouho a Nicky měl doma svou první sestavu bubnů. Od té chvíle po další 3 roky cvičil od rána do večera a v sousedství neznali jiný zvuk než Nickyho bubny, trénoval do rána do večera. Když ho omrzely bubny, obstaral si novou sadu gramofonů. Zkoušení a trénování svých mixovacích schopností se stalo náplní jeho života. A již tou dobou začal přemýšlet o tom, že jednoho dne bude tvořit vlastní hudbu na kterou budou tančit davy. Když Nicky dokončil školu, bylo mu zcela jasné co bude dělat a že hudební produkce nebude pouze jeho kariérou ale i cestou životem. Jeho prvotní hudební nabídka Privilege a QWERTY od Romera byla ihned vydána malým labelem s názvem “Once Records” a tak se zrodil “Romerův sound”. Brzy vydal několik nezávislých nahrávek, mezi nimi například remix pro Tony Cha Cha a Sidney Samsona - ‘Get On The Floor’, díky kterému rozvířil kolem sebe bouři publicity. Všechny další úspěchy vedli Nickyho ještě dále a tak jednoho dne musel dobít ještě jednu část hudební produkce - bootleg. Když vytvořil svou verzi hitu od Davida Guetty ‘When Love Takes Over’, nemluvilo se o ničem jiném a jeho video na Youtube zažilo denně tisíce shlédnutí, sdíleno na všech důležitých hudebních serverech a Nicky tak vstoupil na globální scénu. Vydáním ‘My Friend’ Nicky už jasně ukázal svou cestu. Track vydaný u ‘Spinning Records’ vystřelil na 4. místo celkově v Beatport TOP 100 a na holandském portálu Dance-Tunes skočil rovnou na první místo. Tento úspěch vyústil ve světový úspěch a každý jeho nový počin je podporován a hrán hvězdami jako jsou Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, David Guetta nebo Sander van Doorn, kteří velmi často hrají Nickyho tracky ve svých setech. To všechno Nickyho dostalo do světové špičky nejžhavějších producentů a remixerů planety této doby. S remixy pro Green Velvet, Tiesta, Flo-Rida a Davida Guettu vypadá jeho rok 2011 velmi slibně. Nickyho kalendář pro 2011 se také velmi rychle plní. Byl pozván na Ultrafest během WMC a dvou týdenní tour po Australii. Přesto si našel ještě čas na cestu po USA a Evropě a zářit na všech akcích, kde hrál. To všechno z něho dělá jednoho z nejzaneprázdněnějších lidí na světě, Nicky Romero prostě vykročil do světa!


It was January 6th, 1989 when young Dutchman Nicky Romero saw his first light of day. Born and raised in a small city called Amerongen, Nicky developed an interest for music at a very young age. At the age of 6 he hit his first snare drum after joining a marching band and this is where it all kicked off for young Nicky. After savind up for a little while, Nicky obtained his first drum kit and started banging away at it like there was no tomorrow. For the next three years there was only one beat to be heard in the Romero household, Nicky's beat, practising the drums day and night. Being bored with the drum kit, made way for a brand new set of turntables. Studying and practising his mixing skills were mainly what Nicky's life consisted of at the time. Already flirting with the idea of making his own music and rocking the crowds some day. When Nicky finished school, the path was clear and the objective was set, the producing music became not only a career, but a way of life! The very first musical offerings Privilege and QWERTY by Romero were snatched up by a small boutique label called 'Once Records' the 'Romero Sound' was born. Next having a few releases on small independent imprints, there was a remix for Tony Cha Cha and Sidney Samson: 'Get On The Floor' that whirled up a storm of publicity. All the aforementioned achievements, left one more aspect of the production game in need of conquering; the bootleg. Producing his own interpretation of David Guetta's 'When Love Takes Over' resulted in instantly becoming the so called talk of the town with thousands of hits on Youtube and posts on various influential music blogs, Nicky made his entrance into the global scene. Releasing 'My Friend' really paved the way for Nicky. The track released on 'Spinning Records' shot to a 4th place in the overall Beatport top 100 download chart and straight to the top spot on Dutch portal Dance--Tunes. This succes resulting in the worlds top artists supporting almost everything Nicky released nowadays. People the likes of Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, David Guetta and Sander van Doorn all often feature tracks by Nicky in their sets. All these accolades make for Nicky being one of the hottest, most sought after producers and remixers on the planet today. With remixes for Green Velvet, Tiesto, Flo-Rida and David Guetta the outlook for 2011 is a promising one. Nicky's tour schedule for 2011 is also filling up nicely. Getting invited to play Ultrafest during the WMC and a two-week tour in Australia already pencilled in, leaves just enough time to tour the US and travel through Europe rocking the crowds where ever he plays . All this next to maintaining one of the busiest production schedules know to man, Nicky Romero has truly entered the realm within the global scene.
